One of the most widely held myths in weight loss circles seems to be the idea that one can, through the use of the various popular weight loss supplements – actually attain real and sustainable weight loss; that is, without any further exertion or pain on their part. Obviously, this myth which is seemingly fueled by the makers and vendors of the various weight loss supplements plays on the basic tenet in human nature of always wanting to follow the path of least resistance, and attain goals with the least application of effort.

But the truth of the matter is that even as their name suggests, weight loss supplements are supposed to, and can only play, a supplementary role in the weight loss endeavor, which is naturally bound to lead to a question of what exactly then it is that weight loss supplements are supposed to ‘supplement.’

To answer the question as to what the weight loss supplements are supposed to be supplementing, we have to understand what it is that can lead to real sustainable weight loss, and to which the supplements are supposed to only play a supportive role. And this is not hard to figure out – because those of us who have absolutely no personal interest in weight loss and matters to do with it known that the keys to real sustainable weight loss are proper diet and exercise.

The term proper diet, as used in the weight loss context refers to measures like avoiding foods that aggravate the problem of the bulge (as the weight problem is also called) – these being foods like those that are too high in fat and foods that are too high in sugar. The term proper diet, as used in the weight loss context also refers to measures like ensuring that you only eat when you are hungry, and even then ensuring that you stop eating immediately you sense that ‘you are full.’

To lose weight in a healthy and sustainable way, one also has to ensure that they are giving their body adequate physical exercise, as our bodies were definitely not designed for the sedentary lifestyles we are leading today.

It is only when we are pursuing a proper diet and exercising adequately that we can consider seeking the ‘helping hand’ of a true natural supplement, to help us get where our effort is not reaching – with a quick reminder that that the use of such a weight loss supplement might not even be necessary in some cases; as the use of a proper diet regime and exercise is often enough in fighting the problem of the bulge.

Fat loss just doesn’t work that way. You have to lose it slowly. That’s the only healthy way to do it and that’s the only way to ensure that your fat loss is permanent.

People Who Do Need Supplements

If you work out five or six days per week, or you’re a little older, you would probably benefit from weight loss supplements. Sometimes, when we work out vigorously, we can’t get all of our nutrients from the foods we eat. So we need to consume more protein and more vitamins to make sure our body heals properly after we’ve worked it out so hard.

Also, sometimes using fat burners and other supplements can help us stay on track when it comes to our diet and fitness routine because it reminds us that we’re trying to do something.

The bottom line is, however, that most people do not need weight loss supplements. If you want to lose weight, don’t go spending all your money at the local nutrition store. Instead, go to the grocery store and stock your fridge and pantry with fresh, wholesome foods. Then, get some exercise. Keep that up and you’ll lose weight in no time, and you’ll be able to do it all without the use of any weight loss supplements whatsoever.

If you’ve ever spent money on diet pills or potions and you still haven’t lost weight, it might not be the products that are at fault. If you don’t eat right and get some exercise, you’re not going to lose weight, even if you use the very best Weight Loss Supplements.
